WAYNE, PENNSYLVANIA – April 13, 2018: Falcon Capital Partners, a leading middle-market investment bank, announced today the successful sale of MetroAlert, Inc. (“MetroAlert”) to Zuercher Technologies (“Zuercher”). Zuercher is an operating subsidiary of TriTech Software Systems (“TriTech”) and a portfolio investment of Insight Venture Partners (“Insight”).
MetroAlert, located in Wayne, PA, has been serving the law enforcement market since its founding in 1983 and provides software to police agencies in nearly every county in Pennsylvania and several in New Jersey. The product suite is comprised of RMS, Advanced Information Sharing, and GIS, and MetroAlert currently serves over 500 agencies including municipal and regional police departments, university police departments, counties, and task forces.
Zuercher was acquired by TriTech in 2015, after TriTech received an investment from Insight in 2014, a New York based venture capital and growth equity investment firm. TriTech is currently the largest public safety software company in the world with over 4,000 agency installations serving 255+ million citizens in 19 countries. Michael Zuercher, Senior VP and General Manager of Zuercher Technologies, writes “MetroAlert’s strong dedication to customer service is a testament to the value this industry places on a customer-focused approach. Bringing together the expertise of the MetroAlert and Zuercher teams will benefit the entire industry. I look forward to working together to capitalize on our combined strengths.”
Falcon served as exclusive sell-side advisor to MetroAlert. “Falcon Capital Partners helped us to achieve our goal. I believe their industry knowledge, their process, and their preparation was a key part of this success,” writes Tony Iannacone, MetroAlert’s Founder and President. Regarding the company’s future with Zuercher, Tony continues, “We are excited to join Zuercher Technologies and look forward to the benefits to MetroAlert customers and employees. I started off in this industry working on CAD and RMS projects in the 1970s and 1980s at a local police department and we have invested over 30 years at MetroAlert into developing RMS technology that serves agency needs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Finding the right company to partner with isn’t something we take lightly. Zuercher’s mission of raising the bar for what small to medium public safety agencies can expect from their software providers will benefit us all. We are excited to partner with the largest and strongest public safety software provider in the world.”
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The Zuercher press release can be found on their website here.
Falcon has represented more than a dozen technology companies in the public safety and public sector space, including most recently IMPACT Systems, a New York based police records and dispatch software company, which was acquired by Zuercher Technologies in 2017. The Falcon deal team was led by Managing Director Mark Gaeto, Vice President Don Wanner, and Senior Associate Conrad Olenik.
